The Crisis in Africa.

The Greatest Humanitarian Crisis Facing The World Today
Internally displaced people at Caritas-ACT camp in Al Hamidia.
More than a million lives are endangered as the humanitarian crisis in Sudan worsens. Tens of thousands of people in the Darfur region of Western Sudan have been killed, and more than one million people have been forced from their homes by the violence that has engulfed Western Sudan for more than a year.

Despite tentative peace negotiations and agreed upon ceasefires, there appears little hope that the 198,000 refugees who've crossed the Sudan border into Chad—as well as the estimated 1.2 million internally displaced—will return to their homes in Darfur anytime soon.

The Darfur region is divided into three states—North, West and South—with a population of nearly six million people, one third of whom are expected to need emergency aid by the end of the year. Access to Darfur was largely prohibited until May of 2004. The delayed access, ongoing security issues, and impending rains are making it extremely difficult for the world's humanitarian agencies to provide aid in time to prevent catastrophic loss of life.

With this urgency in mind, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and U.N. Secretary General Koffi Annan traveled to the region to press the Government of Sudan to provide security and access for humanitarian agencies so they may work to save lives. I am also visiting Sudan as a sign of African spirit and to encourage greater access for global humanitarian aid and help humanity
Security conditions are volatile and inconsistent, endangering any ability for displaced persons to voluntarily return to their villages, as well as aid agencies to effectively respond. We've been told that militia are present near settlements and continue to attack villages and border areas. The result is few safeguards for populations already vulnerable, and unprotected access to basic means for survival."

The Darfur Crisis and the Nigerian role.

The Darfur crisis is a result of escalated fighting between the Government of Sudan and rebel groups who claim unjust treatment by the government over land and resources. The Sudanese government and government-backed militias known as the Janjaweed have undertaken systematic attacks against villages linked to the two rebel groups, reportedly including aerial bombardments, burning of buildings and crops, widespread killings, rapes of women and children, and looting.

The Darfur conflict is bound to negatively impact the achievement of a final peace accord in the North-South Sudan conflict. At the same time, the conflict in Northern Uganda, which is related to the North-South conflict and in urgent need of attention, has not been addressed as part of the peace negotiations.

Nigeria is playing a major role in bringing the crisis to an end that is why our President Olusegun Obasanjo went ahead to gather them in Nigeria for a peace conference which is still going on now in Abuja Nigeria.

The Situation question is,Can any thing be done by Nigeria to the Situation?

Coming together of Nigerian Youths

If the Nigerian youths come together and make a real and useful agenda,no government can reverse it for the sake of peace and other things.

Re-orientation:An authenmtic tool for Nigeria Arising with Hope,and Vision

The Nigerian Nation.

The Nigerian nation is a troubled nation beset with numerous socio-economic and political and leadership problems which has greatly affected its growth and development.It is now good time to know that the youths are effective vehicles for effective change and have many programmes,policies and projects to reorient their minds so as to be able and ready for the leadership and hard tasks ahead of him.

It has been my view and opinion that a Nigerian you,if well nurtured,trained and involved in possitive works would bring about change ,hope and the lost dreams of Nigeria to reality and this I believe can be done odr achieved via hardworking,honesty,commitment,dedication,involvement,good and polite leadership reformations and programmes for the youths of our various communities.

The city
About this event: 1st Annual All-Nigerian Youth Conference (ANY Conference) 2004

When I left my home

I left with so much trepidation

So much fear!

Fear for my life

Fear for the unknown

Fear of where to lay my head

Where to eat

When to talk in a this land

When to speak

When not to speak

When to go out and;

when to return.

I left my home with my head ringing

Fron thousands of

"Dos and don'ts"

But here I am with few months

More

smiling,laughing,eating out

Making friends,gisting with

My neighbours

Having fun and good time

Living a wonderful life

Here in the expensive city

The city I was told to fear

The City they call

A land of Unfriendly people

But city full of hope

the sit of our Rising

With promises of better Nigeria

Promises od better tommorow

Promises of fearless environment and;

promises of a corruption free society

good education for all and;

A poverty free society.

Nigeria is the place.
