The face of Unemployment in Nigeria
|
Once upon a time, there was a Nigeria boy when he was a kid was fed and cartered for by his parents,he grew and finished high school and was still cartered for by his parents and fed about 3 square meals daily. He finished university and went for his service year and passed out came back to his house and the parents still cartered for him,but that he started eating twice daily with one meat,he stayed one year at home at it reduced to without meat.
On his second year without gaining employment the parents started giving him food once in a day and on the third year feeling the circumstances and situatuion he went to search for opportunity,he searched and searched but could not see any vacancy finally he arrived at a zoo in the nearby city for a job. When he meet the zoo manager and asked the man if there exist in the zoo any vacancy for him to work because he has made up his mind to take any available job that he saw inother to feed and look nice. The zoo manager did not look at him but told him that all vacancy is filled up.The boy pleaded with the Man.begged him even for the post of a gardener or the commonest job there but the man said that there is no vacancy.
Then the boy decided to leave.Immediately, the zoo manager remembered that their monkey has died and that they needed another monkey to replace it,he asked the boy if he can perform and act like a monkey, the boy said that he will be able to do anything provided he will pay him.
Then, the zoo manager accepted the boy recruited and trained this boy is his new profession and he started work in the zoo immediately and he was paid N30,000 as the starting salary per month and he gave his family some of the money an they started providing him with food agian but he would'nt have the time again to eat.
One day,the boy as he was acting and entertaining some zoo visitors acting as a monkey or defending his classification mistakingly feel into the zoo's lions net.Immediately, the lion rushed to eat him up,roared then the boy jumped up,took out him monkey's voice and cried"Ohafia Leee!!!"The lion on hearing his cry jumped back, cooled down as if comming to retaliate used a lower tune and asked the boy"Are you from Ohafia?".On hearing the lion speak the boy replied"Elu Ohafia Udumeze"Immediately they exchanged greetings andinother for them not to lose their jobs suggested ideas of how to get out of the net.
The Lion rushed and helped the monkey who found his way out of the net immediately the people were very excited and happy that some even paid more to watch the scene.
This story illustrates the face of unemployment in Nigeria my country a place were human beings act like animals in other to feed and be employed.

The Trial of the Fox-A case of Real Authentic Jugdement
|
So many stories were being told about the bad behaviour of the fox that all animals decided that he must be brought to trial. So,they took him to the lion who sat in the middle of all the animals as the judge. The lion said,"call the first witness"."I am the first witness".said the Eagle."we have heard these bad stories of the fox and now i shall not repeat them here now.Bout what makes me angry is that fox only attacks small animals that have no charges against him.He attack chickens and rabbits. If he attacked an animal as big as himselfit might be possible to forgive him but he always attacks small ones".
The lion said"thank you Mr.Eagle.who is the next?"
"I am,said the Spider,"I agree with my brother Eagle on every word he said and I want the court to know how cruel the fox is.
The fox is a coward and is afraid to hurnt in the day;he waits until it is evening or dark. And he sets traps to catch the animals he wants to eat.Because of this and many other unmentioned atrocities of Mr.fox,I think we should kill him."
The Lion said,"thank you Mr.spider.Please call the next witness".
"iI am the next witness said the cheetah,"I want tohe court to know that the fox chases animals which are slower than himself.
Chickens and ducks are so slow that he can easily catch them .He is a terrorist and hasnot been observing fairness when he is hunting."
"Are there any more witnesses?Asked the lion.
"No more witness,"said the owl who is the presiding clerk of the court.
Well,"said the lio,we have heard many bad things about the fox and all these things may be true. For example, the Eagle said the fox attacks samll animals,he does it himself all the time."
The lion continued."The spider tells us that the fox sets traps to catch other animals so that he an eat them.He the spider is an expert in traps.
"And at the end the cheetah said that the speed of the fox made his hunting unfair. He said the fox could run quickly. The cheetah should know this because he is the fastest of the animals."
Then the lion stood up and said,"ladies and gentlemen,I did not like the fox anymore than you do.But I am not
going to find him guity on what is said by peopel who show the same bad trends and behaviour.
Case Dismissed!
The fox went home freeand all the animals went away thinking about what the lion said.
Is the above jugement just?
Do Justice to it.Thank you

Nigeria Any Light in the Tunnel???
|
Nigeria Oh! my country. It has been the truth that many unwelcoming factors could make a nation miss the track of her destination and be in tears.
Nigeria has had a series of blows done to her by her children manifested in the leaders since her independence 44 years ago as a nation.
A close look at the scheme of things will tell you the fact that Nigeria has become almost if not synonymous with corruption.
Taking a critical and vivid look at the scope pf things happening in our country now you will agree with me thatour social life is smelling such that it has been threatened and uprooted from its foundation.
Our economic struggle is rancid, our political as well as administrative departments are ozoning out stinking odour and the odour from our religious life in all its ramification is shocking and terrible, our educational altitude and life is terribly in a confused state, our cultural patrimony is totally in a mess, our cultural life is contaminated.our defense and security system have become political grounds and crazy politicians.Patrotism has become a thing of te past.
Our medical industry is none theless infected with dangerous virus such that the state of Nigerian hospital nowadays has become something unimaginable not only that it has become a tombstone of unborn and helpless babies, the healthcare ahs as well digenerated to the worstest worst.
Drugs are now is called a thing for the previleged because of it skyrocking cost. The money realised continually from our oil sector of our national economy has not been judiciously utilised irrespective of the abundance of God given mineral and natural resources, yet we have scarcity of oil in abundance.
Nigeria has became a nation inscarcity in the pool of abundance and plenty.
This echelon of woes and mishaps erupted me to ask"how is i going to be possible for a successful radical change?"While reflecting on thie ills of the Nigerian society,I came up with a reflecting, ever touching and never exapire question to Nigerians"Nigeria,Is there any light in the tunnel?A question that should in no doubt agitate and motivate, inspire our minds to challenges to reclaim our possession in this country amicable.
Verily I tell you, anyone who has been consistently following the trend of events and programmes inNigeria since herindependence in 1960 about 44 years ago could inevitably see the historical and hermeneutical necessity of a revolutionary approach to her modus operandi and modus vivendi.
The sine qua non for a total reformation of her political and sopcio-economic problems.
But how could we realise a possitive practical answer to the afore mentioned tasking central question. There is still promising light of hope and progress in the tunnel which could be actualized when we sincerely and practically say well, think well, act well and say a prompt no to coruption.
Nigeria would be better is a challenge.Let take up the challenge.
Thank you

There is a depressing similarity to the stories coming out of Darfur. For months now, millions of displaced people and refugees have faced insecurity, food shortages and disease, as they are still unable to return to their villages. I recently returned from Sudan with analyses and recommendations for ensuring genuine, durable protection for the 1.4 million people who continue to live in peril. Read stories of a few who represent the millions in need, and learn how you can help.
And act fast for what ever affects any person directly or indirectly affects you.
Help now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) I have been selected to apply for the position and no going back.In my country HIV/AIDS have caused many socio-economic problems such as reduced life expectancy. There has been an exponential increase in the national prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria in the past years, from 3.8% in 1993 to 5.4% in 1999*.It is estimated that 2.7 million Nigerians in the age bracket of 15-46 are currently infected .Nigerian now ranked second in sub-saharan Africa for the number of HIV infected youths and adults*.Also because of my great commitment towards helting the progression of HIV/AIDS infection in my community and believe that to progress is not just in preventing the infection but ensuring the well being of those people already living with the virus.
2)By organising an effective social enlightenment and grassroot mobilization campaign with the youths of my community and educating them on how to manage and care for the infected ones, because I believe ignorance is one of the major problem of the youths in my community.
3)My experiences with HIV/AIDS is better felt situation than explanation.I have been hit and have encountered by this scourge of our generation that my sister orphaned her children for this course.I have organised and attended workshops and seminars on HIV/AIDS and trained to advocate and counsel people living with this virus. However my experience confirms that although Nigerians benefits from a strong network that encourages the extended family to supprot and care for PLWHA,care givers and youths lack the knowledge, skills and financial means to provide the support that the people living with HIV/AIDS needs.
4)HIV/AIDS have caused us more than enough problems and affected me socailly and economically wise.It has increased our burden of medical care ,a declined in our economic growth and a reduced life expectancy. The spread of HIV/AIDS has also caused and lead to an increased numbers of Orphans and vulnerable Children in my house, community and country, these children suffer negative pschological and physical effects.Should we allow the epidemic spread we will be left with a blanck future.Thank you

Peace -Lets give peace a chance Africans.

The humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan continues to deteriorate despite international attention to the crisis. New reports of attacks on civilians as well as widespread hunger and disease among the refugees in neighboring Chad and internally displaced people inside Sudan continue, while relief efforts are hampered by lack of security, seasonal rains rendering roads impassable and a shortage of relief supplies and personnel. Despite widespread insecurity, the Sudanese government has threatened to force some of the displaced people back to their homes. To date, some 2.2 million people are affected by this crisis, with 1.2 million displaced inside Sudan and 200,000 living as refugees in Chad. Estimates are that 50,000 people have already died. The situation I could not stand.
The Darfur crisis is a result of escalated fighting between the government of Sudan and insurgents who claim unjust treatment by the government over land and resources. The Sudanese government and government-backed militias known as the Janjaweed have undertaken systematic attacks against villages linked to the two insurgent groups reportedly including aerial bombardments, burning of buildings and crops, widespread killings, rapes of women and children, and looting.
Please my fellow youths your help is needed.
Thank you.
